Thanksgiving is Mike's favorite holiday. First, because there is absolutely no commercialism in it. This day is truly about celebrating the blessings in our lives and the joy of being together as a family. I know that I have said it before, but what Mike and I are most thankful for is our family. Included in our Thanksgiving Day celebration were Mike's parents, Ganny and Aunt Kathy, and my parents and Grandmama. I don't know too many families that can all be together as one big happy family. We do not take for granted what a special blessing this is.
And secondly, Mike loves Thanksgiving because it is the brownest meal of the year! And who better to host this delicious meal than my sweet mother-in-law who is a fabulous cook! We feasted on turkey, dressing, wild rice, and monkey bread all covered with gravy. And for those of us who are not opposed to a little color in our diet, we also had green beans, stuffed celery, and fruit salad. Luckily for Mike, the pumpkin pie and pecan cheesecake pie that I made fell into his strict "brown" category, so he was able to enjoy them as well.
Here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving Day Celebration.

We are blessed to have such a precious family that blends so well! Our faith in God and love for each other gives many reasons to be thankful! I was happy to contribute the brown for Thanksgiving, but your pies were delicious! You need to post the recipes! I love you, Jill
