Even though it was below freezing outside, Mike and I got into the Aloha spirit and wore our Hawaiian best!
With the tastes of Maui still fresh on my taste buds, I chose of some of my favorite dishes that we had enjoyed on our trip, and the whole family contributed to the making of this delicious feast. On the menu was macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi, jasmine rice, and a tropical salad.
And for desert, my Grandmother made an authentic Hula Pie, which is made of an Oreo cookie crust, macadamia nut ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It was just as good as what we had on the island!
Throughout the evening, Mike and I shared stories and pictures of our trip to Maui, and just enjoyed spending time with family. Because after all, it's being with the people that you love most that make the celebrations in life most special.
