Thankful Thursdays

Be joyful always; pray continually;
give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I am thankful for all of your prayers. We have definitely felt lifted up to the Lord these past few weeks, and it has made all the difference in how we have been able to handle this difficult time.

I am thankful for all the words of support and encouragement you have given us. Thank you for your calls, notes, and emails. We truly feel loved and cared for.

I am thankful for the verses of hope and comfort we have received. I appreciate you sharing bible passages with us that have been meaningful to you and helped you through times of trouble. Here are a few I would like to share:

"I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer. Show the wonder of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings." ~ Psalm 17:6-8

"Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between his shoulders." ~ Deuteronomy 33:12

"Delight yourself in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass." ~ Psalm 37:4,5

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe." ~ Proverbs 18:10

"He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord." ~ Psalm 112:7

"I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted." ~ Job 42:2

"The righteous cry and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit." ~ Psalm 34:17,18

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." ~ Isaiah 55:8-9

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights." ~ Habakkuk 3: 17-19

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary; but what is unseen is eternal." ~ II Corinthians 4:16-18

"In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." ~ I Peter 1:6-7

What are you thankful for this week?

Lori,
I'm thankful for so many things. I'm thankful for my husband. He works so hard to make a better life for his family. He works hard so I can stay home right now. I'm thankful that he loves me! I'm also thankful for your blog. Its touched my life in ways that you will never know. It has reminded me that I need to rely on God a lot more than I do. So, thank you for sharing your story.

God Bless,
Becky
